| PROGRAMS
Children are grouped in classes on the basis of age and developmental level. Staff-child ratios are limited to ensure program quality. Scheduled days are coordinated with Tucson Unified School District's calendar for the school year, including vacations and holidays. • Tuition ~ Click for Tuition Rates ~ PDF PRESCHOOL HOURS • Preschool hours are from 8:30am - 11:30 am, Monday through Friday. Extended childcare is available from 7:15am to 5:45pm. |
| The daily schedule for the preschool is as follows:
7:15am - 8:30am ~ Early Morning Care: Child care is provided beginning at 7:15am. Children who arrive before 8:30am play outside. In the case of very cold weather (below 40o) or rain, the children will play in the hallway of the West Side building. Parents are welcome to stay and play with their child during this time. 8:30am - 11:30pm ~ Morning Preschool Class: The morning class begins at 8:30am and ends at 11:30am. Class time involves both indoor and outdoor activities and presents large and small group as well as individual integrated activities designed to invite and stimulate all aspects of development of the young child. Parents may enroll children 3, 4, or 5 days per week depending on the availability of space. Please note: Parents to provide a morning snack. 8:30am - 3:30pm ~ Kindergarten Class: Children in kindergarten may be enrolled in either a half day or full day class. The half day class begins at 8:30am and dismisses at 12:00pm. The full day program runs from 8:30am to 3:30pm. This class is open to 5-year-olds and is a 5 day a week program. All day kindergarten includes lunch and an enrichment program with a variety of choices. 11:30am - 12:30pm ~ Lunch: Preschool lunch is from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Children staying for lunch need to bring their own lunch. The lunch period includes a half hour of outdoor playtime. On Fridays, you may order a pizza lunch for your child at $4.00 per lunch. This lunch includes pizza, fruit, juice or water, and dessert. 12:30pm - 2:30pm ~ Rest Period: After lunch, children who nap may rest until 2:30pm. Children, who do not nap, will have a quiet time from 12:45pm-1:15pm. From 1:15pm-2:30pm children may choose from a variety of quiet time activities. 2:30pm - 5:45pm ~ Extended Day Care: Children staying after 2:30pm will have a variety of activities including outdoor play, reading, art projects, gamesand block building. Please note: Parents to provide an afternoon snack. ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS Music & Movement and Creative Gymnastics ~ Children participate in a Music & Movement class once a week. This class offers children opportunities to explore interpretive movement to music, learn about musical instruments and rhythms. Spanish ~ Children will have ˝ hour of Spanish instruction weekly in their individual classrooms. Library ~ The Check-Out Library will visit each class once a week on various days and children will have an opportunity to check out a book to take home. Books should be returned to your child’s classroom on their due dates. Ms. Annie is the librarian.
